Formed in 2016 in Los Angeles, the Suns of Cali offer a fresh take on the California lifestyle through a fusion of Rock / Reggae / Latin and Hawaiian elements. Instrumentation include ukulele , cajon , acoustic and electric guitars and bass guitar . Influences include RHCP, Sublime, WAR, Chicago, Sugar Ray and others. The three founding members of the group Allen, Ryan & Howie all met at Open Mics around LA and from there the project was first carried out. Soon after , latin rock performer Edward Pozuelos of Proyecto E was initiated into the group. Gigging history include festivals and events around the greater Los Angeles region such as the Annual Norwalk Halloween Parade,  Florence Firestone Music Festival, Cypress Park Veterans Day Celebration and the Dia De Los Muertos Festival at The Hollywood Forever Cemetery .The Suns have also played at venues including The Airliner Nightclub, Pentagonal Brewing Company, TRiP Santa Monica, Blue J Bar and Lounge, and The Range in Slab City. In 2017 the Suns participated in Make Music Day LA, a nationwide celebration of music, and also the NPR tiny desk contest in 2018. Radio presence on KPFK Pacifica 90.7 and several online stations syndicated nationally and internationally. Currently gigging and recording the Suns continue to seek band management and representation.
